Wow so much for being better at updates!! After all the requests I've decided to start a blog about Bird, and the things this tuff little nugget has been through.
This last year was a ROLLER COASTER!
B did a great job at holding her own. Maybe a little to well, she does a good job at hiding how sick she really is ( which makes it hard when it comes to getting her more PELD points).
We've delt with eating issues. ~ my biggest stress on a day to day is getting this child to eat/not spit or throw up!!
PICC line issues ~ she's had 9 to date. 2 that she pulled, 1 I cracked while changing a dressing :( and the rest were pulled due to suspected infections.(through all that we have made great friends with the wonderful IR team at PCMC. )
Fevers galor~ it's a rare day that this little hot body does not have a bit of a fever. With infections such a huge concern it's hard to decipher what is Serious and what's not.
Bird has done really quite well this last year I think she's been in the hospital 10+ times but always recovered quickly. The worst part is always the week after trying to readjust to real life. She has a hard time with the fact that moms not going to sit next to her all day. We are not going to go on 5+ wagon rides daily. And that THIS nurse is not going to jump at her every beckon call. It's a HUGE adjustment. Then her grandparents spoiling her rotten does not help. FYI: The fact that she's screaming for M&M's has nothing to do with being sick, and EVERYTHING to do with being 1&1/2.
Here's a few pic of our time spent at PCMC this last year.
September~
