Fiasco

We went up for our normal visit to see Dr J and B was not looking so well so he decided to admit her.   He wanted to do a paracentisis to check to see if the fluid in her belly was infected.  So I went home to work and Shay stayed with her! That may be an insignificant sentence to you but I HAD TO LEAVE HER! I had never done this before and I felt like the worst mom in the world.  Shay was more then up for the job and he does better with her then I do, but I felt so guilty leaving.  So she got admitted, got the test scheduled for noon the next day  That night at midnight they decided to try it at the bedsides instead.. Things were done a little different then how we normally do, and they accidentally nicked her colon and caused some internal bleeding.  She went to the PICU after that.  It felt like this stay was one thing after another. Lines were pulled, and placed and pulled and placed. It was madness. I felt like once we had things back to where we started we needed to get home. For everyone's sanity we needed a time out.  The Drs were a bit reluctant but let us go but by the 29th we finally had them convinced and were able to leave.
