Peace out PICU

Today has been a huge turn around!!!  Earlier today Bird was still super BLAH ( for lack of a better word ). I've always planned on B regressing a little with this big surgery, Ive heard of  " ICU PSYCHOSIS", and people being depressed going thought something like this...but I was not expecting to see such a sad/ won't look at you/ I don't care enough to even cry, two year old.  Really..depressed at 2????

Now I only say this to TRY to explain to you the HUGE change the MINUTE we got to ICS.  ( Not that ICU did try. They did everything short of stand on their heads to get a smile or reaction from this girl. We got wonderful care in the PICU) WE got to her new room and she started talking, interacting, asking for toys, and even laughing!!!  It's like she comfortable and not afraid, like she was home! That made me wonder if she really thinks these rooms are her new home. She's been here about a month and a half.  I hope she knows that one day we WILL go home to her very own room!  ( and her puppy cash)

Barb and Danny came up this morning.  Once B finally decided to wake up and join the party, she was happy to play with them. Ryan and Becky Henrie came too.  They brought B a darling little animal ( and Becky she LOVES it now that she's not pouting )

So over all today I went from having a depressed baby, to my normal, spunky/ happy/ spoiled/ bossy/ perfect/fun girl !

Birds on steroids now to help her liver behave.  It also increases your appetite and she's now so hungry she'll eat a horse.

This is Dr Vu. Her first day on service. ( like 2 hours in). Bird got the call for her liver!!! Now, on her last day, B got out of ICU. She's our lucky charm!!

Long lost Smiles!!!!!

Kicked back with a good book.

I'm kind of over her "I'm haveing so much fun I could puke" face!

  1. Such great news. I can't begin to imagine how hard it was to you to see your little Bird so depressed. Funny (not funny ha ha) how things
affect an almost 2 year old. I would never have guessed this would happen. Her cute smile is awesome. Progress is good!!
