Good Riddance!

This morning we went on a wagon ride first thing, and Bird saw a new little friend.

Later Shay drove up and someone was excited!!

These two had so much fun together!

They watched the Helicopters land and take off.
We have a great view for that and its been fun to watch,

They Colored

Berkley had to show Shay EVERY toy she had.

Today we were able to go down and see Birds old liver.  I knew it would be sick but I was very surprised about how GREEN, big and HEAVY it was. I also expected  it to somewhat resemble a normal liver, this however, was NOT the case. I asked the Pathologist which lobe was which, and they said it was so malformed with growths that they were not able to decipher its parts.  They also could not find one functioning liver cell! This girl was SICK.  There was one mass I recognized. I've seen that little bump for quite some time now.  It's the lump that's been sticking out under my baby's shirt.  That made it very real for me. This rotten, dead, yucky, mass was what has been making my baby so sick.

This is a picture of a healthy liver...(not birds)

Its a lot like a raw chicken breast.  (the white around it is just a rag)

And this is Birds "EX" liver!

The Pathologist is pointing (above) at what they think may have been the divide between the right and left lobe.  They think that one lobe has shriveled up,(the piece hes pinching) and the other is massive due to it trying so hard to regenerate.  It would grow/die/grow/die.

The Green color is staining from all the Bile build up.

This is me holding it

Look close here and you can see the clamps that they used when removing it.

Good Riddance!

  1. Oh - my - gosh. No wonder the little Bird was so sick, sicker than we actually realized. Good riddance indeed.

It's so fun to see her and her daddy together, I'll bet he couldn't quit smiling seeing personally how great she's doing.

    You guys are amazing parents!!!
